SDIF Integration in i-Maestro Gesture tools
نویسندگان
چکیده
We discuss two prototype pedagogical applications that allow the study of string instrument bowing gesture using different motion capture technologies. Data exchange between the two applications is achieved using the Sound Description Interchange (SDIF) format which has, until now, been used primarily as a format for storing audio analysis data. We describe our method of storing motionand analysisdata using the SDIF format.

متن کاملExtensions and Applications of the SDIF Sound Description Interchange Format
This paper concentrates on recent extensions and applications of the well established SDIF Sound Description Interchange Format: SDIF selection is a standard way to access a part of an SDIF file. It allows users to select SDIF frames of a certain type and time, and certain parts of the matrix data. It can be appended to a file name, making it easy to use for command-line programs. Other applica...

متن کاملUsing the Sound Description Interchange Format within the SMS Applications
Recently, we have seen an increased use and support of the Sound Description Interchange Format (SDIF), among which the integration of SDIF in widely used environments such as MAX/MSP (Wright, Dudas, Khoury, Wang, Zicarelli, 1999) and MPEG-4 (Wright, Scheirer, 1999). To follow and encourage this trend, we have added support for importing and exporting SDIF files in the latest version of the SMS...
متن کاملCross-Coding SDIF into MPEG-4 Structured Audio
We have created a link between the Sound Description Interchange Format (“SDIF”) and MPEG-4’s Structured Audio (“SA”) tools. We cross-code SDIF data into SA bitstreams, and write SA programs to synthesize this SDIF data. By making a link between these two powerful formats, both communities of users benefit: the SDIF community gets a fixed, standard synthesis platform that will soon be widesprea...
